In the wake of his sudden rise to lordship, Cain Asbell begins the urgent work of building prosperity across his lands while fending off early raids from bandits eager to test his inexperience. Guided by the fairy Elise, he weighs the risks of failure against the five-year deadline that could strip him of everything. Along the way, he encounters Tsubaki, whose body seems to act on its own impulses, the devoted Tia, and the reserved Chiffon, whose guarded demeanor hints at untapped warmth. As alliances form amid the pressures of rule, Cain must decide whom to trust as he shapes his kingdom's future.
